I was excited to read this book, since I have read all of the previous books by this author. I finished the book in one sitting because it was too good to put down. I had to keep reading to find out if the young couple's story had a happy ending or not.Newlyweds Hannah and Jakob were expecting their first baby when things started to go wrong. Hannah was stressed out by working at the bakery with Mrs. Stoltzfus, a very cranky lady. Hannah really wanted to quit her job and work at her best friend Mercy's new bakery instead. Hannah did quit her job, but not the way she had planned to.
The newlyweds faced some rough times after Hannah was no longer working. Read the book to find out how their faith helped them to weather the storms in their first year of marriage.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys well written Amish fiction.

I have enjoyed reading Amish books and found this one very good. Hannah and Jakob are very much in love and are expecting a baby. Some ways of the Amish are difficult to deal with, such as keeping pregnancies quiet, how some people are treated due to their beliefs. Very interesting book and i cannot wait to read the next one.
I have to admit... I did enjoy the story. I feel like my copy had been "tweaked". Many places did not match when I would go on to next page. Sort of spoiled it for me. I seem to always enjoy the Amish stories. So hope they keep writing. Just wish they weren't tampered w/when put on the readers.
This is my first Kristina Ludwig book. I thoroughly loved it. I have been reading Amish and/or Christian romance books lately and this book is right up there with those I've been reading from different authors. I feel like I must recommend her books to all who want simple, clean, and interesting reads. She's that good.
I would recommend this book to fans of Amish fiction. I thought it was well-written and had my interest from page 1. I especially enjoyed the way the author wrote the situations...looking at them from both the young woman's thoughts and then from the young man's viewpoint. It gave me some insight into how the Amish think and also how differently men and women relate to each other. I want to read more of Ms. Ludwig's books now.
The fascination of the Amish ways of life, which are so different but yet so much alike, in regards to daily struggles we all must deal with at times, has led me to the most intriguing books series I have read in a while. Thank you Kristina Ludwig for creating these heartwarming, real-life stories for all of us to read, and another added bonus is that I can related to the discussions of my hometown, Pittsburgh. Hannah and Jakob, our newlyweds, have a welcomed addition coming soon. Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop the complications from arising or problems to be automatically solved for this couple. They must rely on each other, their family and friends, and most importantly their faith. I won’t give away too many insights, as this is a must read for everyone, but Hannah is very strong-minded and usually gets what she wants. The characters are real life as is the plot. Ms. Ludwig takes you away from the struggles of your everyday life and into a world where issues are dealt with in a manner that one must rely on oneself and their belief that with family, friends, and faith anything is possible. Great job on another successful book, can’t wait for the next.
I have been fascinated with the Amish lifestyle for quite a while now, and I have been looking for books that would delve deeper into the psychology and thinking of the people who choose a very simple (but not easy!) lifestyle in our complicated high-tech world. However, most of the books I’ve been finding read like research studies. And then I discovered Kristina Ludwig. What a find!
I loved reading this story about a young couple who have all the trials and tribulations of young couple all over the world but who are also so unique because they are Amish. This book is both original and highly relatable, and that’s a winning combination.
Hannah is a very likable character she’s strong, faithful, and loyal. She also knows what she wants and finds ways to achieve it. I look forward to reading more books in the series!
Amish Baby This was one of my favorite books I have ever read and was written very well. I enjoyed how entertaining this book was and it kept my eyes on the page for so long without looking away. Great book - Highly recommended!
